A.W. Tozer
A.W. Tozer (1897–1963), considered a modern-day prophet even in his lifetime, was a pastor, author, editor and a highly sought-after conference speaker who ministered to hundreds of thousands. He came to Christ as a teenager, after listening to a street preacher’s invitation. With only a grade school education, Tozer read voraciously and became a self-taught theologian. In 1919 he assumed the pulpit of a small congregation in Nutters Fort, West Virginia, commencing a pastoral ministry that spanned 44 years. A perennially popular author, Tozer’s preaching ministry lives on through his legacy of writings, including the classic The Pursuit of God.
