Lord, I intercede with heartfelt sincerity for that bishop who declared to a national audience that your Word doesn’t fit the specifications of his intellect. He’s worried that bright, sophisticated people are being turned off by such oddities as a three-decker universe? (heaven, earth, hell) and demons that are frequently mentioned on the pages of Scripture. Dear God, I’m moved to plead for this brother and beg You to forgive him for his uninformed prattle. I pray that tonight he may lift Your Word from his shelf and turn to Ephesians 6, allowing the most inspired intellect the church ever produced to speak directly to his ignorance. Maybe he’ll notice in the process how ridiculous a Christian looks out of his uniform of armor, being hung out to dry by unknowing agents of Satan  especially on national television.
